sneaking out! {dreamkit/harepaw}

[HAREPAW]

Harepaw's eyes flicked from the ginger she-cat to her father, a familiar brown warrior walking past. Thank goodness the tom didn't notice his bright-furred kit hiding in the shrubs nearby. 'Harepaw!' He heard his name uttered from Dreamkit's shrub, and sighed. She was going to get heard!

The kit's father was barely out of sight over the hills before the ginger she-cat came tumbling out of the bush and into Harepaw's tabby flank. The apprentice leaped up, surprised by her sudden appearance beside him, and whipped around to face her. "Dreamkit!" He hissed softly. "We don't wanna get caught." There was tension in his voice, but not anger. He glanced around casually and saw no one. They were safely out of camp and on the moors, with not a cat in sight besides each other. "Phew. Your father almost caught you there!" This time, Harepaw's voice contained excitement at the thought of risk taking. He stared at her with his pale eyes wide, ready for action. Outwitting warriors! Sneaking out of camp! Smuggling a kit as well! This was more excitement than he was used to. Taking a deep breath to hide a hiccup, he calmed himself down. "Where should we head first?"

Dreamkit huffed and glared up at the brown male. She shrugged her shoulders and bolted into a bush just as the dawn patrol came padding by, not taking any notice of the small, orange tuft of fur partially sticking outside of the bushes many, many branches and leaves. The tabby gave a sigh and trotted out as soon as no cat other than Harepaw was in sight of the mischievous apprentice and the intelligent kitten.

Dreamkit stifled a scream as a bug landed among her head, tickling her. "Ha..Harepaw.." She squeaked quietly as the bug moved down onto her muzzle and looked as though it were taunting the kit that was on the verge of a massive freak-out.
